The IBS took place from March 6th to the 8th this year, at the Javits Center and I was very excited to have gotten the opportunity to check it out. I came on the second day of the IBS and was in for a fun, and memorable experience. Once, I arrived and checked in, I noticed everyone was carrying quite large bags. I wasn’t sure if there were a lot of giveaways or if people just really liked to shop here. Apparently, everyone there was there to buy.
Upon entering, I was quite overwhelmed at first. All of my senses were overloaded with different colors, music, textures, and movement. All around me were booths, each one, had its unique designed , that was either selling their merchandise or held its own live demonstration with live models, and master stylists. Some booths had both. There were a number of stages with sessions running throughout the day, simultaneously going on at once, each with it’s own crowd.
Once we adjusted to the chaos and walked away from the less prominent areas, everything seemed a little more relaxed, and I got to take my time to look at everything in detail. I saw an array of products from all industries. There was a vendor for pretty much every single beauty product you need ,including makeup, lashes, hair products, hair tools, nail supplies, body products, skin products, and more. I was attracted to more of the makeup, body, and skin products so I spent most of my time there.
Everything at the expo was significantly discounted so, it was very tempting to want to purchase everything in sight. But I reminded myself to only look for items I needed. Along the way, I learned about some new brands, and got acquainted with some old ones. My favorite booth was the Eminence Organic Skin Care booth, which I love, and ordered recently online. I also picked up some mineral makeup along with some brushes that were very reasonably priced and grabbed some body products as well. I am excited to try out these finds and to be back at next years’s International Beauty Show in New York.
